Looking to sell part (or all) of your whisky collection? Maybe you are looking to free up some cash for your next purchase, or perhaps you have inherited a collection from a relative. Our team of whisky experts can help!
Go under the hammer
The Whisky Shop Auctions is our dedicated Auction House. Our approach to whisky auctions is innovative and driven by a desire to get the very best for our customers.
How does it work?
The Whisky Shop Auctions is an online auction service that provides a comprehensive service to buyers and sellers of whiskies.
Get in touch
Contact us with some information about your bottle(s), providing as much detail as you can. We'll assess your item(s) and let you know if they are suited to auction.
Send your item(s)
You can send your items directly to our Auction House in Glasgow or drop off in any of our 23 locations in the UK and Paris.
Auction
In our rolling auction programme, lots are added and end every day, with active bidding for between 3 and 10 days. Our website will let you track all the items you are selling with us.
Payment
Once your item has sold and the buyer has paid, we'll credit the proceeds of the sale to your virtual wallet. You can then withdraw the funds to your preferred account or use them for future purchases.

What do we need?
To get started we need as much detail as you can provide about your item(s). Try and include the following information:
Distillery/Brand
This is usually the largest name on the bottle. For independent bottlings, please provide the name of the bottler/series too.
Age/Vintage
The age of a whisky is the age at which it was bottled. The vintage is the year it was distilled and is usually stated on limited edition or single cask expressions.
Volume & Strength
Volume is usually provided in ml, cl, or litres, but older bottles may have fl. oz. Strength is usually measured in ABV or % VOL, but can be in proof too.
Photographs
Pictures of your item can make identifying the bottle much simpler. Please include a good image of the bottle, clearly showing the label and the bottle closure.
