Our Values

The prosperity of our business and of the communities in which we operate requires a commitment to corporate social responsibility, especially in relation to alcohol.  We use our best endeavours to adhere to the principles and practices set out below.

Sale of Alcohol

As purveyors of alcohol, we are acutely aware of the harm that alcohol can cause if not sold and consumed in a responsible way. Our staff receive training on the alcohol licencing regulations relevant to each store’s jurisdiction and each store has a qualified licence holder. We comply with all alcohol licencing laws and we take care not to sell directly or indirectly to persons under the legal age.

We are aware of the potentially harmful effects of selling alcohol to individuals before 10am and after 9pm, and we seek to limit our shop opening hours accordingly. We do not indulge in multi-buy offers.  We regularly stress the benefits of drinking less but drinking better. We support the principles of drinkaware.co.uk

Customers

We aim to build long term relationships with all our customers and other stakeholders by understanding their objectives as they evolve over time and meeting their needs. We aim to give fair value, consistent quality and reliability. We aim to have the highest professional and ethical standards and will be honest, open and transparent in all our dealings with customers.

Feedback from our customers plays an important part in our continual service improvement programme. After each online order, we send a request for a review through the independent platform, feefo, which can be viewed on our website to assist other customers with their decision to purchase.

Our People

We are committed to the well-being and continual development of our people and to training our workforce. We aim to maintain a workplace where staff are appreciated, valued and given regular feedback so that each employee has a clear understanding of their role and how they contribute to the business. We operate a meritocracy, where all employees are recognised and rewarded on the basis of their performance, effort, contribution and achievements.

We expect our employees to act with integrity towards one another and exercise a high standard of business practice and workmanship. We support diversity, fairness and equal opportunities and aim to involve and consult regularly with employees as to the direction of the business.

Environment

We are aware of our environmental impact as a business. We have taken and continue to take appropriate steps to mitigate this impact.

During checkout you have the option to choose our Reduce & Recycle service. Many of our products come in a gift carton, tube or box, which can be difficult to pack safely and difficult to recycle at home. By choosing not to receive this outer packaging you can save paper, reduce carbon emissions and save time at the recycling centre. Just let us know during checkout if you’d prefer not to receive any unnecessary packaging by ticking the box – and don’t worry, we won’t dismantle any gift packs you’ve ordered!

We take care to ensure our packaging is fit for purpose, while also assessing its impact on the environment. Our boxes can be widely recycled at kerbside in your paper and cardboard bin, while the protective airsacs we use to ensure your bottle arrives safely are reusable and can be recycled wherever category 4 (LPDE) plastics are accepted. Find your nearest recycling point

We strive to make our deliveries as efficient as possible by allowing you to collect bottles directly from your local shop if they are available or by sending these on our next store pallet delivery if not. Our main courier is committed to making every delivery carbon neutral at no extra cost to you, by striving to reduce CO2 emissions, and by offsetting the remaining emissions. Find out more

The Community

We understand and appreciate the significance of the local community in which we operate. We aim to provide responsible service to our communities with regard to the sale of alcohol, our environmental impact, treatment of our staff and customers, and the health of our high streets.

Health & Safety

We aim to provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment for all our team by providing information, instruction, training and supervision, wherever necessary, to ensure the health and safety of our staff and customers.

It is our intent to ensure that responsibilities for health and safety matters are effectively assigned, accepted and fulfilled at all levels within our organisation and regular monitoring activities are undertaken to maintain our standards.

Suppliers

We aim to create and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors. We aim to choose suppliers that share our ethos in relation to the sale of alcohol, employment practices, quality and environmental controls.
