The first of its kind from Glen Scotia, this decadent liquid has been quietly awaiting its moment for 50 years, but a drop in the ocean of Glen Scotia's 200-year history. The five decades it has spent becoming the liquid gold you see in the bottle has nevertheless shaped this Campbeltown dram into something extraordinary.

Ushering in a new and breathtaking collection from Glen Scotia, this whisky has been molded slowly over time, through the craftsmanship of human hands and the artistry of mother nature herself.

With a nod to the land from whence it came, as well as the legacy of Glen Scotia - whose emblem is the five fold Celtic knot - the Elements of Campbeltown Collection is centred around five forces: air, water, fire, and earth, all of which culminate in that fifth and most important element of all, Spirit.

Each release in this range will celebrate a different elemental force, with this first in the lineup paying homage to the elusive yet powerfully present element 'Air'.

This first Elements release, 'Air', reflects its namesake element in the Atlantic maritime nuances of the distillery's coastal climate. This coastal wind is woven into the flavour of the spirit, creating touches of salinity between complex and ever-changing layers of baked orchard and tropical fruits on the nose and palate.

Industry expert, Charles Maclean, offers us his unique perspective on this impressive new release:

"Over the half century an American oak refill hogshead has given the whisky a ‘leonine’ hue. The aroma is profoundly complex. The first impression was of glazed pear tart with flaked almonds, backed by vanilla fudge, edging towards edible seaweed, then developing maritime notes of boat varnish and sea salt. The latter comes through in mid palate, after a lightly sweet start, followed by a pinch of powdered ginger and a lingering aftertaste of coconut."
