Celebrating Women in Whisky

With this in mind, we’re going to be releasing a series of blogs to shout about the extraordinary women whose brands we have had the pleasure of collaborating with, and who are at the forefront of the whisky/ey industry.
Keep a look out for names such as Louise McGuane - founder of J.J. Corry Irish Whiskey, Ashley Smith - Master Blender for Glen Scotia, Laura Rampling - Master Whisky Maker at The Glenrothes, and more whisky world stars.
Last but not least . . .
We want to take a moment to recognise our very own ‘women in whisky’ who, though perhaps not industry movers and shakers yet, contribute in a very real way to the everyday running of our world here at The Whisky Shop. Whether it’s our fabulous Executive Producer of Whiskeria, Frances Wilson, our superb Customer Services Manager, Asha Prasad, our absolute expert advisor, Sarah Tsang, or the other wonderful women from our stores and head office who keep The Whisky Shop clock ticking, we want to celebrate their work with us and within the whisky industry this month, and always.
More than just a day
While International Women's Day comes but once a year, we feel that there are too many wonderful women driving innovation in the industry to limit our celebrations to just one occasion, so we are committed to continuing this conversation throughout the year. The work of these figures and others, is transforming the industry into something more inclusive, innovative, and diverse. We’ll be spotlighting more female figures, distilleries, and brands that are paving the way for future generations of women in whisky.
