Situated in Speyside near Forgue in Aberdeenshire, the GlenDronach distillery is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland, quietly creating some of the finest sherried single malt whiskies since its founding in 1826.

Six years ago, the distillery stepped out of its comfort zone and introduced a line of wood finishes for the first time in its 180 year history. The range, which included the 12 year old Sauternes Finish, the 18 year old Marsala Finish and the 19 year old Madeira Finish, proved popular around the globe, winning critical acclaim. Now the distillery is giving it another go with the re-release of the 14 year old Virgin Oak Wood Finish.

Bottled at 46% abv, non chill-filtered and at natural colour, this single malt is matured in European Oak before being transferred to a small batch of the finest Virgin Oak casks for finishing. The Virgin Oak imparts a unique flavour and aroma to the liquid, producing a nutty, sweet and fruity whisky, with lashings of banana, melon and coconut characteristics.
