We implemented our Ballot process this year as we decided that going forward this would be the fairest way to allocate some of the whisky industry's top expressions. We receive very limited stock of these expressions and, due to this, we don't find a first come first served system to be beneficial to us or to our customers. We ship to customers across the globe, and we do not believe it's fair to deprive customers in different time zones of the chance to buy these rare expressions. Our Ballot is open for a set period which is made clear to shoppers who register their interest in an expression beforehand. This gives any keen customers plenty of time to enter the Ballot.

Who can enter?

Our Ballot is open to all residents of the UK, as well as selected countries that The Whisky Shop currently ships to, who are aged 18 years or over with a valid email address. The Ballot is a feature that is only open to the members of our W Club. Employees of The Whisky Shop are not allowed to enter the Ballot, nor is any third party who is connected to the promotion.

How does payment work?

If you choose to enter the ballot, your card details will be taken to reserve the value of the product. This helps to prevent this issue of multiple entries. The payment will only be taken out of your account if you are successful in the ballot. If you are unsuccessful, the funds being held on your card will be released.

How are our winners selected?

All valid entries that have been received will be entered into the Ballot draw. The winner is drawn at random electronically by an independent third party. It would be great if any Ballot winners could share their news on social media - we would love to see you with your new bottle! The winner is notified by email as soon as possible after the ballot is drawn. Hopefully this simplifies our Ballot process for you!
