Celebrating Women in Whisky: Ashley Smith

An iconic Campbeltown whisky producer, Glen Scotia is a firm favourite among lovers of Scotch whiskies. We were lucky enough to catch Ashley Smith, Master Blender for Glen Scotia, for a chat in our latest episode of the W Club Decanted, as we continue with our Celebrating Women in Whisky campaign.

In this episode, W Club Manager, Luke Crowley Holland, and Ashley dive into all things Glen Scotia - from the distillery's fascinating history, to their visions for the future, award-winning releases, and what it takes to create the iconic liquid loved by so many. They also delve into Ashley's own whisky journey, and how she has found a network of women in whisky to inspire and support her throughout her career in a previously male-dominated industry.

About Glen Scotia
Glen Scotia is one of the smallest whisky distilleries in Scotland but one of the big names of Campbeltown. The distillery was awarded Scotland's Distillery of the Year 2021 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2021. The distillery still maintains much of its original design, including the fermenters, the stillroom, and the dunnage warehouse dating from the 1830s.
