The Whisky

One of only 3000 bottles, this intense limited edition Bowmore single malt has been matured in a combination of exceptional European oak sherry casks, and American oak bourbon casks filled in 1991 and 1992. A celebration of time and appreciation of how a moment influences the character of whisky, this is an immersive journey with captivating depth and intensely rich layers of flavour. Bottled at a bold 53.7% abv.

Expect notes of sherry-soaked raisins, cocoa and orange marmalade on the nose, alongside cherry blossom, maraschino cherries and liquorice. The palate shines with warm pear, fruitcake and cocoa, before the warming and enduring finish full of dry peat and sea salt.

The Distillery

Panoramic shot of Bowmore Distillery on Islay

Founded in 1779, Bowmore is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland, and the oldest surviving on the Isle of Islay. Remaining hand-crafted, Bowmore prides itself on its traditional techniques which honour past methods like floor maltings and slow distillation. The No.1 Vaults warehouse has been maturing liquid for over 240 years, sitting on the shores of Loch Indaal and infiltrating the whisky with the essence of Islay. The result is exceptionally expressive flavours - rich and fruity with a smouldering complexity. A truly multidimensional whisky.
