The Whisky Shop Auctions provides a comprehensive service to buyers and sellers of whiskies. We are dedicated to providing our customers with personal, professional and expert service in everything we do. Our approach to whisky auctions is innovative and driven by a desire to get the very best for our customers. The combination of an established specialist chain with an online auction service is unique in the world.

The Whisky Shop Auctions was created and shaped to meet the demands of the modern whisky lovers, and our online auctions allow access 24/7 to a wide variety of bottles through our site, marking us apart from other auction houses. We’ve moved away from a monthly auction which packs large volumes of bottles into a short time period and requires intense bidding to ensure you win the bottle you’re looking for.

Over the years we’ve been auctioning bottles there have been so many great lots come through our warehouse. As we’ve built trust with our sellers, some real gems from the whisky world have been featured on our auctions with great results for them. Take for example, Macallan 1952 49 year old Fine & Rare, which sold for £21,000, and the Bowmore 1967 12 year old Largiemeanoch, achieving £20,000. We’ve also seen great success with modern bottles too, for example the Macallan James Bond 60th Anniversary Globe Trotter, which reached £17,000.

We’ve also brought the whisky community together for charity. In November 2020 we hosted a special auction for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, raising vital funds for the foundation and their works around Motor Neurone Disease. We were touched to receive 50 rare bottles from distilleries and private collectors, meaning that ultimately the hammer prices totalled over £50,000. A humbling reminder that whisky brings people together from all over the globe and this can be harnessed for good.

Our community includes collectors from around 30 countries. Here in the UK, many of the sellers will get to meet our “On The Road” specialist, David McFall as he journeys around collecting the auction entries. We can also utilise our Whisky Shop branches as drop off locations for bottles. This flexible approach allows our sellers ease in submitting their lots for the auction. Once the bottles reach our warehouse in Glasgow, our friendly and experienced team process them to ensure they are ready to be listed on the site. Careful handling and high-resolution images ensure that the bottles are looking their best when they are in the auction.  Once the bidding is complete, the bottles are securely packed and sent on to their new homes across the globe.

Our people are the best in the industry and, like our stores, they are spread throughout the UK and France. Collectively, they possess more than 90 years’ experience of the specialist whisky market and are fluent in four languages. They are always on hand to provide expert advice and guidance. What we do

Our Rolling Auction means there’s always something new and exciting for bidders and sellers alike. Every day there are new items added to the site and allows for a comfortable bidding experience, keeping the experience exciting. There are advantages for the sellers too, with a regular sale means a quicker payout and shorter turn around time. There’s no fear of your lot being lost in a sea of a mass of the same bottle, your bottle gets its own time to shine.
