Father's Day - Best Irish Whiskey for Your Dad
1. Bushmills

The oldest licensed distillery in the world, Bushmills is located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, not far from another Irish icon - The Giant's Causeway. They are one of the few whiskey producers to continue to triple distil 100% malted barley in copper pot stills, and uniquely distill, blend, mature and bottle on the same site. The motto from its owners is that Bushmills is the ‘oldest because it is the best, not best because it is oldest’.
Here's our top recommendations from Bushmills:
This single malt Irish whiskey is distilled at Northern Ireland's Bushmills, claimed to be the world's oldest licensed distillery. This 21-year-old is matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon seasoned casks for more than 18 years before being finished in Madeira wine casks for two years.
The nose is sweet with notes of honey, toffee, spiced fruits and espresso. The palate is rich and mouth-coating with dates, pecans, mango and grape. The finish is sweet and smooth with a hint of tobacco leaf and cooling mint.
Bushmills 10 Year Old is an Irish single malt whiskey, triple distilled from 100% malted barley and matured for at least 10 years in sherry and bourbon seasoned barrels. An award-winning staple, this is delightful dram when served neat; add in an ice cube or two for the perfect summertime whiskey!

2. The Sexton

A thoroughly modern Irish whiskey, The Sexton was crafted by Alex Thomas, one of the few female Master Blenders in Ireland. She decided to break the rules of traditional single malt whiskey, and set out to create an unexpected yet approachable taste profile. By guiding carefully selected Oloroso sherry casks through maturation, the bold taste and smooth finish that are unique to The Sexton were born. In Irish folklore, The Sexton is the guardian of the graveyard, serving as the final person you see before you move on to the afterlife and to whom you tell your life story. The Sexton whiskey invites you to live a life with a story worth telling.
Created by Alex Thomas, this Irish single malt whiskey is triple distilled and matured in Oloroso sherry casks sourced form Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. Bottled at 40% abv, The Sexton has a smooth, rich and approachable flavour for a thoroughly modern Irish whiskey.
Expect aromas of honeyed malt and dark chocolate, with hints of marzipan and mixed spice. The palate boasts flavours of dried fruit, nuts, spice and citrus oil, which lead into a lingering sweet finish of honey and oak.
