This expression was created in response to demand from bartenders for a smoky variant of the ever-popular Monkey Shoulder blended malt. Made using first fill ex-bourbon casks and malt whisky from William Grant & Sons portfolio of award-winning distilleries, primarily Glenfiddich, Balvenie and Kininvie, Smokey Monkey is bottled at 40% abv.
Notes of peat and barley sugar on the nose with sweet fruits. The palate brings heaps of smooth vanilla with an ever-present earth smoke, before a smooth and chocolatey finish with a drying smoky note.
