Contact Form

If you wish to get in touch with The Whisky Shop, you can do so via our contact form, found in the Contact section of the site.  To send us a comment or ask a question, enter your details into the correct fields. We require you to provide your first and last names and a contact email address.  If you wish, you can also provide your address details and phone and fax numbers - however this is not required.

Once you have entered your personal details into the form, you are required to select an 'Enquiry Type' from the drop down list.  This is required so your enquiry can be sent to the person best equipped to deal with it.  Finally, enter the text of your enquiry or comment into the box marked 'Enquiry / Comment'.  Please note your enquiry length is limited to 1000 characters (inc. spaces).  This is to ensure enquiries / comments are succinct in order to aid us in responding to them as expeditiously as possible.

When all the fields have been filled in, click 'send'. Your enquiry will be sent to The Whisky Shop where we will deal with it as soon as possible.

Basket

When you 'buy' a product it is automatically added to your basket. Viewing the basket allows you to see a list of all the products in the basket as well as update quantities, update delivery costs and remove products.

To modify the quantity of a product, enter the new number required in the Qty field and click the 'update' link to the right of the product. Please note: only one product quantity can be updated at a time.

To delete a product from the basket, click the 'delete' link to the right of the product. To change the delivery region, select the new region from the drop down list.

If you are experiencing problems when adding products to the basket, please ensure your internet browser is enabled to accept cookies. Cookies are small text files that are temporarily stored on your computer whilst you ‘buy’ products. Checkout

In our check out you will be asked to complete your invoice and delivery details. The invoice details – name, address etc must match your payment card details - otherwise your purchase will be declined by the authorising bank.

There are several mandatory fields which you must complete to enable us to process your order and allow us to contact you should we need to discuss your order.

If you are ordering for yourself then you can click the ‘Same as invoice’ check box in the delivery section and the website will automatically complete your details, or if you are ordering for a friend or relative, please include their delivery details and perhaps a gift message, which we will put on our personalised compliment slips and send with your order.

Please note: the delivery country must match the delivery region in the shopping basket, otherwise the website will not allow you to continue.

Once you have confirmed your order, you will be passed to Barclays Bank to process your credit card details. To maximise security, we do not retain your card details on our server and connect to Barclays Bank via a secure SSL connection to seek credit card authorisation. Most of you details will be passed directly to the Barclay’s web authorisation pages, however for additional security you will be asked to re-enter you name as shown on the credit card and the name of the person who will receive the goods.

Once you card has been authorised, the Barclay Bank ‘success’ page offers you the chance to print a copy of the details – we recommend you do this for your records. Afterwards, you will be directed back to our website where a receipt of your purchases will be displayed, again we recommend you print a copy of this for your records as it contains your order ID for any enquiries.

Refunds & Returns

We ONLY accept the return of goods, and issue a full refund, when:
  a) the goods have demonstrably been damaged prior to transit or 
  b) the goods received are clearly different from those ordered;

and
the recipient has notified us of the fact within 24 hours of receipt.

Goods shall not be returned unless and until the customer or recipient has:
a) advised The Whisky Shop (info@whiskyshop.com)

and

b) The Whisky Shop has accepted the return of the goods in which case ONLY The Whisky Shop shall be responsible for the cost of transit by the method specified by us.                              

Refunds will be credited back to your account upon our receipt of the goods.

Delivery Information

We are happy to receive your orders for Christmas at any time up to and beyond 25 December 2011. However we must advise that orders received after 12 noon Wednesday 21nd December run the risk of being delivered late. We will use our best endeavours to dispatch these (mainland UK) in time for Christmas - however we are in the hands of our couriers at this time of year. Every year, the whole delivery system across the UK becomes overloaded in the last few days before Christmas and no organisation is able to prevent or control this. So if your delivery has to be there in time for Christmas Day, the best thing you can do is order early!

Deliveries within the UK require a lead-time of 2 working days for all UK mainland orders, but please allow 7 days for delivery. If you have not received your order within 14 days please contact us immediately.  With our superior delivery service, delivery is normally next working day for orders received before 1.30pm.  However we cannot guarantee next working day delivery. We do not deliver on Saturday or Sunday unless by special arrangement.

Overseas deliveries require a lead-time of 7-10 working days for all orders. If you have not received your goods within 21 days please contact us immediately.

For packages required by a specific date, or for those of high value, we strongly recommend the extra cost of the superior service.

We require someone to be present at the delivery address to sign for acceptance of the goods.  Goods are despatched by a third party courier and their terms and conditions apply.

We strongly recommend that our customers speak to their Customs & Excise Advice Centre regarding the shipping of whisky, as it is the responsibility of the customer to check if and what customs restrictions apply and to notify The Whisky Shop of any special instructions.

The Whisky Shop, where appropriate, will complete a customs declaration form declaring 'Specialist Malt Whisky, No Commercial Value' and stating replacement value. Prices shown are inclusive of VAT at 20%, which may be deducted for non-EC countries. However, customers may be liable for taxes/duties in their own countries.

Whisky is sent entirely at the customers own risk as we are unable to guarantee safe delivery.
