Distilled at Ardmore in the Scottish Highlands, this single malt has been matured first in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels before being finished for a period in European oak casks that were previously used to mature port wine. Bottled at 46% abv aged 12 years old.
The nose is peaty with some sweet summer berries and oak notes. The palate brings orange citrus and sweet peat with a touch of vanilla before a honey note in the finish with a touch of sweet wine.
