This 1999 Vintage Balblair is full-bodied single highland malt whisky and displays the core Balblair characteristics. The Spanish oak, ex-sherry butts used in maturation give a rich, warm spice.
Burnished gold in colour. A first aroma of fine brown bread and butter, with light vanilla and ground almonds gradually emerging. A sweet then spicy and lightly salty taste at full strength. Water raises faint maritime notes and a light oiliness; the taste now softer, sweeter and lightly perfumed.
