Caol Ila 15 Year Old 2016 Special Release Description
Part of the Diageo Special Releases 2016 collection, this limited edition bottling of Caol Ila was distilled in 2000 from a batch made only once a year from unpeated malt. Matured in refill American oak hogsheads and refill European oak butts for 15 years, limited quantities are available of this Islay Single Malt worldwide.The nose is delicate with fresh green apple above a soft toffee and malt layer, before a maritime influence and citrus emerge. The palate is powerful at natural cask strength with a sweet overall taste along with notes of menthol, fruit and lots of malt and toffee. The finish is warming with menthol and eucalyptus.
