This blended malt Scotch is the final chapter of a limited edition trio of releases from Compass Box Scotch Whiskymakers. Designed to challenge the 'myths and legends' that are often perceived as the rules of Scotch whisky, this release is produced with the same parcels of Glen Elgin malt whisky as Myths & Legends II, with the addition of liquid from Highland Park and Caol Ila. The Whiskymakers set out to dispel the belief that famous single malts shouldn't be blended. Crafted with whisky ranging from 15 to 23 years old, this third release is bottled at 46% abv and limited to just 4,564 bottles worldwide.
The nose is sweet and fruity with an aromatic peat smoke. The palate has bursts of exotic fruits with a silky butterscotch note and an assertive peat influence, before a savoury quality and some sweet spice in the long-lasting finish.
