  1. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT THESE TERMS DO?
    1. We are Glenkeir Whiskies Limited, trading as The Whisky Shop and also Executive Publishers of Whiskeria magazine.
    2. Our registered office is Suite 2 (Rear), Melisa House, 3 Brand Place, Glasgow, G51 1DR.

    4. These terms, in the absence of specific terms attaching to any one initiative, regulate the terms and conditions of promotions and competitions staged by us for our customers and readers.
    5. By submitting an entry to one of our competitions, you confirm that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to comply with them.
    6. If you do not agree to these terms, you will not be able to enter our competition.
  2. ELIGIBILITY
    1. The competition is only open to entrants aged 18 years or over and resident in the UK.
    2. The competition is not open to our employees, agents or suppliers or members of their immediate families (including ‘step’ relatives) or households.
    3. In entering the competition, you warrant that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. We may require you to provide proof of eligibility.
    4. We reserve the right to refuse to accept any entry or entries that we judge to be in breach of these terms and conditions, or not to be in the spirit of the competition, including, but not limited to, entries which are automatically generated by computer or completed by third parties or in bulk.
    5. We reserve the right to suspend or withdraw the competition or amend the campaign or these terms and conditions without prior notice. Any changes will be posted in an updated version of these terms and conditions.
    6. Our decision in relation to any issue of eligibility, claiming of the prize, or accepting an entry, is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  3. HOW TO ENTER
    1. The opening date for entry is 00:01 on 9th August 2023 (Opening Date). The closing date for entry is 23:59 on 16th October 2023 (Closing Date). Any entry that we consider has not been received by us before the Closing Date will not be accepted and will be discarded.
    2. To enter the competition you must submit an answer to the entry question at www.whiskyshop.com/whiskeria-competition
    3. We do not accept responsibility for any unavailability, failure or suspension of any entry channel, or for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
  4. THE PRIZE
    1. The prize includes four 70cl bottles of Deanston single malt: Deanston Virgin Oak, Deanston 12 Year Old, Deanston 15 Year Old Tequila Cask, and Deanston 18 Year Old.
    2. The winners are randomly selected.
    3. All prizes include delivery to the winner’s address where appropriate.
    4. Prizes are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-exchangeable and there is no cash alternative offered.
  5. WINNERS
    1. Winners will be selected by us at our sole discretion in accordance with these rules, by whichever selection process we deem appropriate for the competition in question.
    2. We will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner as soon as practicable after the Closing Date, using the contact details provided with the competition entry. If the winner does not respond within seven days of the initial attempt to contact them, we may at our discretion award the prize to the next winning entry that is selected, and so on. You are not entitled to make any claim against us if you do not respond to any communication or if you do not take up the prize for whatever reason.
    3. We may publish or make available information on prize winners of any competition that we stage.
  6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
    1. Insofar as is permitted by law, Glenkeir Whiskies, our agents and distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate any entrant to any competition we may stage, nor accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of entering and/or accepting any prize.
    2. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for any death or personal injury caused by our negligence or that of our agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  7. DATA PROTECTION
    1. We will only process your personal information as set out in our privacy policy.
  8. GENERAL
    1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, we may, at our sole discretion, exclude you from participating in the competition.
    2. We reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize draw where we deem that it is necessary to do so.
    3. These terms and conditions shall be governed by Scots Law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.

Rugby World Cup – Win a Year’s Supply of Whisky

The Promoter is set out at the end of these Terms and Conditions.

  1. WHO CAN ENTER
    1. This giveaway is open, subject to any other qualifications in these terms and conditions, to all residents of the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) who are aged 18 years or over with a valid email address, except for employees of the Promoter, its associated companies, agents, third parties or anyone else professionally connected with this competition. Proof of age may be required.
    2. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. The instructions provided at the point of entry form part of the terms and conditions of this giveaway. In the event of a conflict, these terms and conditions take precedence.
    3. The competition will be run across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Entrants who meet the Terms and Conditions will have an equal chance of winning across each platform.
    4. DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES
      Entries must be received before 23:59 on 28th October, (the “Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.
  2. HOW TO ENTER
    1. To Enter:
      • Puchase any 70cl or 50cl bottle of Bushmills, Gulliver’s, Hatozaki, The Loch Fyne (excluding The Loch Fyne Botanical Gin), Penderyn, or Starward.
      • In-store entries must be accompanied by valid contact details.
    2. There is no limit on the number of entries per person. Multiple entries submitted directly or with the use of any automated systems will not be entered into the draw.
    3. No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed, mislaid or damaged in transit, regardless of the cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
    4. Those entries not in accordance with the rules will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the giveaway; any entry containing false, incomplete or misleading information will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the giveaway.
  3. THE PRIZE
    1. The prize — “a year’s supply of whisky” — is defined as twelve bottles of whisky (listed below), posted directly to a chosen address within the United Kingdom.

      • 2x Gulliver’s Fine Drop MArgaux Cask Finish (70cl)
      • 2x Hatozaki 12 Year Old Umeshu Cask Finish (70cl)

      • 2x Penderyn Portwood (70cl)

    2. There are six sets of prizes available.
  4. WINNER SELECTION
    1. All valid entries received by the Closing Date — online and in store — will be entered into a prize draw, and the winners will be picked at random.
    2. Six winners will be selected in total.
    3. The winners’ details (surname and county only) will be available for one month after the Closing Date by emailing [email protected].
  5. WINNER NOTIFICATION
    1. Winners will be notified by via the email address or telephone number provided with the entry. Winners will be required to respond within 30 days of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the prize. In the event winners do not respond to communications within this period or if any prize is declined, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and draw another winner.
    2. Please allow 30 days from the date of the winner’s address verification for delivery of the prize.
  6. DATA PROTECTION
    1. We will treat all of your personal data as confidential. We will keep it on a secure server and fully comply with all applicable privacy regulations and consumer legislation.   7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
    1. Participating and entering this contest is considered a complete release of Meta Platforms (including subsidiaries Instagram and Facebook) and/or X (formerly Twitter) by each entrant or participant. It is also acknowledged that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered with, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter) and/or Facebook, or any brand featured in the competition, including but not limited to: Bushmills, Gulliver’s, Hatozaki, The Loch Fyne, Penderyn, Starward, and each brand’s distributors and parent companies.
    2. The Promoter and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury arising from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.
    3. If you have opted-in to receive further information or marketing from any of the Promoter’s agents or suppliers involved in the administration of this competition, you understand and accept that the relevant third party will be solely responsible for any processing of your personal data for these purposes, that such processing will be governed by terms of that third party’s privacy policy and that the Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability in association with any such data processing for these purposes.
  8. GENERAL
    1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or if the Promoter believes that your conduct may be unlawful or otherwise bring the giveaway into disrepute, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to make your entry void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude you from participating in the giveaway.
    2. The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the giveaway is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
    3. The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the prize giveaway where it becomes necessary to do so, with no liability to any entrants or third parties.
    4. This giveaway and all issues arising out of it shall be governed in accordance with English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
