Eminente Reserva may look like a traditional Cuban light rum, but you can expect the complexity and depth of a very old one. This expression is aged for a minimum of 7 years in white oak ex-whisky barrels. Made from molasses from locally sourced sugar cane, the process of being aged in a tropical environment such as Central Cuba leaves its mark on this rum. It is at once intense and delicate on the nose, full-bodied and very deep.
The nose gives notes of ginger, and Sichuan pepper. The palate is rich with hints of smoke, vanilla, coffee, and sugar. The finish is long, with a fresh creaminess that accompanies notes of chocolate with a wisp of smoke. You do not have to be a rum aficionado to taste the quality on display here, we think this is one that will quickly be a crowd favourite.
