This Speyside single malt from Glen Moray is a unique assemblage of five vintages from four different cask types showcasing the very best that the Elgin distillery has to offer.
Bourbon cask matured whisky from the 1970s adds vintage oak character, port finished whisky from the 1980s bring a sweeter character and spice, with Madeira cask matured whisky from the 1990s and 2000s adding vanilla and toffee. Finally, sherry casks from the 1990s add a rich body and mouthfeel to this luxurious single malt.
The nose opens with an explosion of sugar-crusted rhubarb crumble, chocolate-coated raisins and toasted almonds. The palate is rich and complex, with a well-balanced mix of coffee, dark chocolate, sweet raisins and fortified wine. The finish is long and satisfying with spice and oak to the fore.
