Using Jack Daniels’ time-honoured mash bill of 80% corn, 8% rye and 12% malted barley, filtered through sugar maple charcoal and bottled at 58.7% abv (117.4 proof) in a playful tribute to iconic McLaren founder Bruce McLaren’s first race car, the #58 Austin 7 Ulster. The whiskey was aged in barrels made from staves seasoned under the Tennessee sun for a prolonged period, softening the oak’s tannins and leading to a particularly smooth pour. A softer yet intensified play on the classic Jack Daniel’s profile.
A sweet, fruity, oaky nose leads into a palate full of baking spices, aromatic tobacco, dark chocolate and caramels. The finish is long and powerful, with notes of butterscotch and cracked black pepper.
