Lagavulin 12 Year Old 2017 Special Release

One of the 2017 Special Releases from Diageo, this 12 year old was distilled at Lagavulin distillery on Islay's rocky southern coast. Filled to refill American oak hogsheads to mature, this limited edition, cask strength bottling is only available in limited quantities worldwide.A clean and fresh nose, with intense sweetness and prickly smoke, green earthy tones emerge with liquorice and smoky bacon, before a fruitier influence develops. The palate is rich and sweet at natural cask strength, with liquorice and golden syrup infused with a savoury smoke of burning leaves and smoked meat. The finish is sweet with a lingering smoky aftertaste.
