The Red Collection is an exquisite range of distinguished and rare single malt scotch whiskies which capture The Macallan’s deep respect for tradition and craftsmanship. The distinctive red colour is inspired by The Macallan 'Choice Old' range, released over a century ago in 1903, and brought to life by beautiful illustrations by acclaimed Spanish painter and illustrator Javi Aznarez.  The Macallan 60 Year Old is matured in a combination of sherry seasoned and refill casks and bottled at 43.4% abv. The nose has a combination of sweet and fruit notes, alongside baked peach and pineapple with figs and dates. Hints of leather merge creating a luxuriously resinous aroma. Dry antique oak notes and hints of ginger develop into tropical papaya and mango on the palate. The finish is complex with lime, liquorice and dark chocolate.  Read More

Knowledge Bar

The red thread begins with Alexander Reid, the farmer and teacher who founded The Macallan in 1824. Taking up residence at Easter Elchies in the late 1700s, he transformed the estate from a small farming community into a world-renowned distiller. His surname Reid is a name of Scottish origin, meaning ‘the red one’ and was originally associated with red hair. Back to top

Choose our Reduce & Recycle service during checkout to remove any unwanted gift cartons, tubes or boxes, from your order. We'll send them to be recycled and you'll save paper, carbon emissions and time at the recycling centre!

Returns

If your item is damaged in transit or you receive an item that is clearly different to that ordered, we will arrange for a return via courier and issue a full refund.

To be eligible for a full refund you must contact us to inform us of any issue within 24 hours of receipt. Refunds will be credited back to your original payment method once we have received the returned items.

Please note that any personalised, bespoke or made-to-order items, or items with a broken seal, are non-refundable unless faulty.

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel your order, you must do so within 14 days from the day you received delivery. Items that are bespoke or personalised cannot be cancelled, and will only be returnable if faulty.

In the event of cancellation, the cost of returning your items will be your responsibility and not that of The Whisky Shop. Items must be returned within 14 days from the date of cancellation. Refunds will be processed on receipt of the items.
