The Oxford Artisan Distillery have excelled themselves with this expression. The most anticipated release from the distillery, this is the third batch of their anniversary rye whisky. This was first matured in American oak casks for 17 months, and then fully matured in Moscatel de Setúbal wine casks for an additional 19 months. Bottled at cask strength, Oxford Rye Whisky Batch #3 is double distilled in their custom-made stills, and oozes with summer vibrance. A limited-edition release to savour.
This is jam-packed with flavour. Expect floral and herbal aromas to arrive on the nose, with a wide variety of fruits, raisins, creams, and a heap more to dive into. The palate gives notes of gummy bears, honey, white chocolate, nutmeg, apricot, and BBQ. The finish is candied and spicy, with sugary smoke arriving.
