Part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection of mature bourbon and rye whiskeys, this straight rye is named for the New Orleans bartender who created the legendary Sazerac cocktail. This 2019 release was distilled in 2013 and matured in new white oak barrels for at least 6 years before being bottled straight from the barrel, uncut and unfiltered.
The nose is sweet and spicy with cadied fruit and cinnamon. The palate has a bold spice character of cinnamon and cloves, rounded out with sweet toffee, figs and cooling mint, before nutmeg and allspice in the lingering finish.
