To mature this unqiue Kentucky bourbon, Master Distiller Chris Morris has hand-selected XO cognac barrels that have held cognac for three seasons. The resulting expression is described by Morris as 'the best of both spirits – a balance of crisp American and French oak notes, complex fruit character, subtle spiciness and a creamy confectionary finish.' Presented in a bespoke decanter by renowned crystal-maker Baccarat, this release is bottled at a strength of 45.2% abv.
The nose is rich and warming with toasted oak, chocolate, clove, cinnamon and creamy vanilla bean. The palate brings dark chocolate and elegant vanilla atop dried fruit notes, rich caramel and oaky malt. The finish is velvety smooth with a delicate note of spiced caramel mocha.
