This 2019 addition to the Arran core range is distilled at Lochranza on the island off the west coast of Scotland. Matured for seven years in first fill sherry hogsheads, this expression is a return to the style of some of the earliest Arran single malts. Presented at a natural cask strength of 55.8% abv, this single malt is free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.
The nose is sweet with chocolate-coated raisins, mandarins and a touch of spice. The palate is warm and rich with sweet cherries, ripe figs and luxurious sherry notes without overpowering the subtle Arran spirit. The finish brings notes of pink pepper and hazelnut with toasted oak lingering on.
