Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

In light of the continuing situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, The Whisky Shop would like to reassure our customers that we are doing everything we can to minimise disruption to our service, while complying with all guidance and advice issued by the government for the well-being of our staff and customers. Please read on for more information on how we are responding in our shops and online business.

Online Orders

Our online shop is open, accepting and dispatching orders as normal

Free UK Delivery

We are offering free UK delivery on all orders over £99. To take advantage of this offer, just select ‘Free Delivery’ as your delivery method during checkout. This service is a free of charge standard service using our courier DPD, which will take 3-4 working days for delivery.

Contact-Free Delivery

All UK deliveries continue as normal. Our courier has confirmed that all DPD depots and hubs are working as normal and there are no closures affecting any of these sites. For information on UK delivery click here.

International deliveries are largely continuing as normal also, however we are unable to deliver to some destinations due to ongoing Brexit trade negotiations. For information on international delivery click here.

For our customers who are concerned about coming into contact with others during the delivery process, our main courier DPD offers a range of in-flight delivery options such as ‘Deliver to a Safe Place’ or ‘Deliver to a Neighbour’. These options will allow you to choose where your parcel is placed upon delivery, meaning you can still receive your order if you are following guidance on self-isolation or just social distancing. To select one of these options, you can click the tracking link you receive by email or text message after your order has been dispatched from our warehouse.

DPD have also confirmed that recipients do not need to sign the driver’s handheld device to confirm delivery, as drivers will have other methods to record this without the need for contact.

Gift Messages

If you need to send an order directly to a friend, relative, or associate, you can enter a gift message on the basket page. We will print this message on a Whisky Shop postcard and include it in the parcel to ensure the recipient knows exactly who has sent it and why. This could be a great way of reaching out to a friend or relative who is self-isolating and putting a smile on their face.

All of our shops are now open. While we endeavour to remain open, we may have to close shops temporarily and at short notice if staff numbers are affected by the Track & Trace system. When this happens we’ll update our shop information on the website so you don’t have any disappointing journeys – please always check the latest information before travelling.

Safety Measures

We have some measures in place to keep you safe in store:

  • Antibacterial hand gel will be provided.
  • Face coverings:
    • By law face coverings must be worn at all times inside the shop.
    • If you are unable to wear a face covering we will ask for a reason, however you may present an exemption card or lanyard in response if you prefer.

Our online auctions are open, and running as normal with some temporary changes


If you wish to submit bottles for auction, please get in touch with us by email at to discuss. We can arrange for free home collection and may be able to supply packing material to help you get your bottles to our Auction House.
