This new expression from Glenfiddich has been inspired by the original 1963 straight malt recipe, invented by Sandy Grant Gordon, who shaped the single malt whisky world as we know it today. Taken from the original recipe book from Hamish Robertson, the 4th Malt Master of Glenfiddich, Brian Kinsman has skilfully recreated the Glenfiddich Straight Malt taste profile. Very much embodying the Glenfiddich 'Family Run Since 1887' mantra.
Presented in a striking premium black tin, this is a non-age statement single malt whisky bottled at 40%abv.
Pale gold in colour, this fabulously fruity nose gives way to oak notes, subtly complimented by soft pears. Developing on the palate into a sweet and lively taste, with plenty of fruits and vanilla oak. Some delicate spice reveal a dry finish.
