Matured in a combination of both ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, the Fine Oak series showcases a lighter style of Macallan than the Sherry Oak, with a little more distillery character apparent. The 21 year old expression is described as "The Age of Maturity".
The nose would suggest an older whisky – scented hand-cream, sandalwood, pears in liquor: sophisticated. The taste is sweet, lightly spicy and drying elegantly. A little water introduces an initial spicy note to the aroma and a slight acidity to the taste.
