A truly special limited release from Benromach. This single malt is made up of a combination of Cara Gold malted barley and Benromach's usual lightly peated malt. Matured in first-fill bourbon barrels for eleven years, there are only 6,300 bottles of this expression available globally. Released as part of Benromach's Contrast series, this whisky was bottled in 2022 at 46% abv.
The nose is fragrant with notes of lime and creamy butter present. The palate is full of warm oak, tropical fruits, roasted malt, and spicy pepper, with hints of smoke coming through. The finish is fruity, sweet, and smoky.
