The fifth and final release in Macallan’s limited, New Year-inspired A Night on Earth series celebrates the vibrant sights, sounds and flavours of New Orleans, evocatively illustrated by emerging NOLA-born painter Hill Spriggins. The whisky was matured in sherry-seasoned American and European oak, with each cask type contributing its own layers of sweetness and spice in homage to the city’s bold and flavourful cuisine. Presented at 43% abv. Bright orange zest with warming cinnamon and clove on the nose, layered with treacle, dark chocolate and dried berries. Creamy vanilla and almond praline meet rich ginger and star anise on the palate, rounded out by dried fruit, cherries and polished oak. The finish is soft and sweetly oaked, with gently fading spice.
