Longrow
Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Longrow is the heavily peated expression produced by Springbank distillery in the heart of Campbeltown. Named after a lost distillery of the region, Longrow's mothballed premises is now used as Springbank's bottling hall.
About Longrow
One of the most heavily-peated single malts to hail from Scotland, Longrow is a highly sought-after expression. It is double distilled and matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks on the grounds of Springbank distillery in Campbeltown.
The range includes a classic peated, 18 Year Old, 21 Year Old and Longrow Red - matured in a different red wine cask each year..
Longrow has been a staple in Springbank's production calendar since the 1990s.
With their 2015 Red release, the distillery launched the first Scotch finished in a New Zealand wine cask, Longrow Red Pinot Noir.
History
Longrow distillery was originally founded by John Ross in 1824, and closed in 1896. Springbank began distilling, what we know as Longrow today, in 1973, as an oiler, heavier and smokier version of their spirit. It was to be used in a blend created at the time, however the single malt releases quickly grew a cult following.
