An elegant dram with a kick. This Tobermory 2004 Oloroso Cask Matured is a vivid and striking single malt. A demonstration of Hebridean island artistry, this expressive single malt was distilled in 2004 and spent 17 years maturing in Oloroso sherry casks. A small batch release of 11,124 bottles, this is free from chill filtration and colouring. Arriving at a punchy 55.9% abv, this is a proper sherry cask whisky. Arriving in bespoke packaging, this is a stand-out limited-edition release from Tobermory.
The nose is packed with toffee, caramel, almonds, and blackcurrants, with a little wisp of spice. Rose petals, mango, walnuts, dark cherry, and creamy toffee is balanced out with toasted oak and hints of leather. The finish is dry, nutty, and with a kick of spice.
