The Loch Fyne

Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

From the quiet town of Inveraray on the shores of Loch Fyne sits Loch Fyne Whiskies. Starting up through one man's passion for whisky, Loch Fyne Whiskies has progressed from a passion project to a first-rate blending house in its own right. From Liqueurs, to Blended Malt Scotch, and a curious array of treats that refuse categorisation, this award-winning brand has, like its own malts, been getting better with age.

About The Loch Fyne

The Loch Fyne is the name under which the Loch Fyne Whiskies shop releases its own drams. Loch Fyne Whiskies is based in Inveraray, a tiny town with a population under 1,000 people. The shop was opened in 1993 by Richard Joynson. Since then, it has moved to a more prominent location in the village and has become a tourist destination in the process. So much so that Loch Fyne Whiskies has recently opened a new premises in the bustling Cockburn Street in Edinburgh, a stone’s throw from the Royal Mile.

A shop that puts the customer first and the pursuit of unique and interesting drams a very-close second, this is a vital stitch in the tapestry of both Inveraray as well as the Scottish whisky scene as a whole. The Loch Fyne range represents its unique, interesting position as a whisky producer. Expect crowd-pleasers and experimental combinations galore!

History

After Richard Joynson opened the tiny shop in Inveraray in 1993, he found success to be quiet and gradual. But find success he did. He moved operations to the larger shop by the waterfront and found his business to be a favourite of those on the West Coast Tourist Trail of Scotland. Due to his deep passion for whisky, he forged enduring bonds with those on their travels as well as those in the local community. He eventually bought back the original premises, which is now used to store The Loch Fyne Whiskies Living Cask selection. In June 2018 the next big development arrived, with a new store in Edinburgh’s busy Cockburn Street. Just like in Inveraray, this store is a sign of how passion breeds success. The Loch Fyne has recentlly expanded its range, which now encompasses liqueurs, single malts, gins, and more.
