Aromatic Islay peat has always been the most important component to their iconic expression, and is the flavour most associated with Laphroaig. To bring the lifeblood of Laphroaig’s character to the front and centre, they have finished the single malt in a heavily peated cask to reintroduce prominent smoky notes that often take a back seat as the spirit ages.

“It's a special dram for a special bottle. Expect the light fruits to come through. Let the smoke fill your mouth and up into your cheeks, with fruitiness dancing along the tongue”.

Distillery Manager Barry MacAffer

A limited release of only 200, each bottle is quite literally a work of art, hand painted by award-winning London illustrator and ceramicist, Laura Carlin. The bespoke artwork has been completed with with the exact paint from Warehouse No.1 and is inspired by the peat bricks used the cold-smoke their barley. All 200 bottles are hand numbered and signed by the artist herself.

The nose is fruity, with notes of passionfruit, strawberries, sultanas intermingled with soft leather and cinnamon. On the palate, flavours of zesty orange peel, pineapple, runny honey, vanilla and custard tart lead to a smooth finish of lingering signature peat.
