We have 20 bottles up for ballot, enter now here. The ballot opens at 12pm on Monday 30th October, and will end at 12pm on Tuesday 31st October 2023.

The Whisky

Having been bottled in 2007, this single malt has been aged for 15 years, before being bottled at a ‘Fife Strength’ of 56.3% abv. The release is made up of just thirteen first fill bourbon barrels, which were matured in the special upper level of their warehouse.

On the nose, expect rich herbal notes alongside biscuity sweetness, grassy olive oil and chamois leather, before a grassy and waxy palate with flavours of old-school shilling ales, barley extract and mineral oils. Rich wood spice, herbs, toffee apple and sweet beer flavours lead to a good length finish full of pine sap, bay leaf and olive oil.

The Distillery

Founded by two brothers in 2003, Daftmill is a farm distillery. Owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, it only runs in the farm’s quiet periods; midsummer and winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. When not distilling, Francis Cuthbert looks after the estate, growing the malting barley used to make this Lowland whisky. Operating like this was once the norm but has not been seen in Scotland for the last 100 years.
