Digital Drams: Michter's American Whiskey
We are so excited for The W Club's next Digital Drams, our online tasting event thats not to be missed! Join us on 11th May to sample some of the wonderful offerings from Michter's Distillery. To celebrate the world famous Kentucky Derby this May, we are linking up with them to deliver our first American Whiskey focused Digital Drams since September 2021.
Michter's is a Kentucky-based whiskey which traces its roots back to the late 1700s. The brand is known for producing high-quality, small-batch whiskeys, with meticulous attention to detail. Their precious liquid is made using carefully selected grains and pure limestone-filtered water, and by employing traditional methods like slow-cooking and small-batch distilling. Michter's offers a range of whiskeys, including bourbon, rye, and sour mash.
Michter’s Stephen Copperthwaite will be joining the call to present five Michter's whiskeys, covering a number of different mashbills and cask styles.
- Michter's US Number 1 Bourbon - made from only the finest American corn, and matured to perfection in a handful of charred American white oak barrels.
- Michter's US Number 1 Rye - a spicy rye whiskey made from select American rye grain that is sheared to maximise the extraction of flavour, and matured in a single fire-charred new American oak barrel.
- Michter's US Number 1 Sour Mash - as this whiskey has a highly individual grain selection, it cannot be referred to as a rye or a bourbon. Matured in charred new American white oak barrels.
- Michter's US Number 1 Unblended - matured in bourbon-soaked American white oak barrels, meaning it cannot legally be classified as a bourbon itself!
- Michter's Toasted Barrel Finish Sour Mash - their Sour Mash Whiskey finished in custom barrels which are toasted, not charred, for a smokier taste.
The event will be £20 for W Clubbers and £25 for non-W Club members (both prices include delivery) and each pack will contain 5 x 3cl samples of the above.
The event will take place on Thursday 11th of May at 7.30pm and hosted via Zoom.
