Next week we'll be partaking in a metaphorical 9 holes with Andy Jack from Loch Lomond Whisky. As the Official Spirit of The Open, Loch Lomond is the perfect dram to keep you company during this year's tournament beginning later on this month. We'll be sampling two of their The Open 2023 special editions, alongside three of the distillery's most popular offerings. Loch Lomond is a distillery truly like no other in Scotland. Eight whiskies are produced there, Loch Lomond, Inchmurrin, Glen Douglas, Old Rhosdhu, Craiglodge, Inchmoan, Croftengea, and Inchfad, and each expression in the award-winning Loch Lomond range is matured in casks crafted and maintained at the on-site cooperage.

Each pack contains 5 x 3cl samples of:

  • Loch Lomond 12 Year Old - aged in three types of cask - bourbon, refill and re-charred - this one is perfectly balanced with a deep fruity character of peach and pear and the characteristic hints of peat and smoke found in Loch Lomond Whiskies.
  • Loch Lomond Inchmurrin 12 Year Old - also aged in a combination of bourbon, refill, and recharred casks, this one boasts a strong flavour of Seville oranges before mellowing to peach and apricots, then giving way to creamy vanilla fudge, before a medium and peppery finish.
  • Loch Lomond Inchmoan 12 Year Old - a peated expression born from a unique combination of whisky from a traditional swan neck pot still and whisky from a straight neck pot still. Sweet with medicinal peat notes, smoked bacon, roasted coffee beans, cloves and star anise, before a fruity green apple and pear character develops.
  • Loch Lomond The Open Special Edition 2023 - a sold-out expression crafted for the 151st Open, the spirit was matured in American oak casks, with a finish in Rioja Alta Reserva casks. These rich, exceptional red wine casks have imparted red berry and dark chocolate flavours which pair beautifully with the Loch Lomond house style. 
  • Loch Lomond 2000 22 Year Old The Open Course Collection 2023 - this spectacular 22 year old Loch Lomond expression is limited to only 4,500 bottles. Matured solely in American oak casks, the expression explodes with tropical flavours of grapefruit, pineapple and mango, along with notes of sweet vanilla and caramel. 

Additionally, following the event, you will receive a 15% discount on all the whiskies sampled.
