Golden Dram: Johnnie Walker Master's Ruby Reserve
The limited edition combines eight 40-year-old casks from Johnnie Walker's reserves, which were personally selected to become a part of Ruby Reserve by Master Blender Jim Beveridge OBE. These casks hail from ‘ghost’ distilleries of Cambus, Carsebridge, Pittyvaich and Port Ellen, as well as from Talisker, Royal Lochnagar, Glendullan and Cragganmore.
Presented in a luxurious ruby-coloured Baccarat decanter, Johnnie Walker Master’s Ruby Reserve is Jim’s personal ode to some of the whiskies that have left an indelible mark on his 40-year-long career.
The nose opens with stewed plums, thick butterscotch, and toffee apples. The palate brings blackcurrants, dark chocolate, and beach bonfire before leading into the sweet, smoky, and satisfying finish.
