The passionfruit martini, otherwise known as the pornstar martini, was first created in 1999 by Douglas Ankrah. If you're not a huge fan of the classic martini, the passionfruit martini may be right up your street. Despite both sharing the martini name, the two cocktails could not be any less alike. While classic martinis are quite bitter and herbaceous, passionfruit martinis are sweet and citrusy. Despite being a relatively new concoction, the passionfruit martini is one of the most popular cocktails at the moment. Sweet yet zesty, passionfruit martinis pack a mighty punch. It's the perfect cocktail to prepare if you are hosting any social events and you're looking to impress your guests. As well as being super tasty, these cocktails are surprisingly quick and easy to make at home! Follow our recipe to make a passionfruit martini as good as anything you'd find in a bar!

How to drink

With the element of the prosecco shot, you may be wondering how to drink your passionfruit martini. Douglas Ankrah intended it to be consumed by first eating the passionfruit garnish, then drinking the prosecco shot before enjoying the cocktail itself. However, there's no pressure to do it this way! Enjoy your passionfruit martini at your own leisure!
