The Whisky Shop Clash of Nations!

The Six Nations kicks off this weekend and we have something very exciting in store! We're pitting a whisky from each of the home nations against each other with free sample events in all of our shops, kicking off this Friday 31st January and Saturday 1st February with Ireland vs Scotland! Come and visit us in any of our stores each Friday and Saturday of participating fixtures for some free samples. To keep things in the spirit of the competition we'll be asking you to vote on your favourite dram of the weekend and sharing the results across our social media channels. Whiskies 

Ireland

Representing Ireland we have the magnificent Bushmills 16 Year Old. This single malt Irish whiskey is distilled at Northern Ireland's Bushmills, claimed to be the world's oldest licensed distillery. This 16-year-old is matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon seasoned casks for just over 15 years before being finished in port pipes for nine months.

England

Representing England is the fantastic Gulliver' 47 Single Malt. This English single malt is distilled at the St George's Distillery in Norfolk, exclusively for Gulliver's, and matured in bourbon barrels before bottling at 47% abv. Gulliver's 47 is named for 18th century wine and spirits merchant Samuel Gulliver, an adventurous man who is claimed to be a source of inspiration for Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels.

Wales

Part of the Gold Collection from the Penderyn distillery in Wales, this single malt has been matured in ex-bourbon barrels before spending some time in sherry casks to bring out a rich character. Winner of multiple awards including Gold at the 2018 World Whisky Masters, this expression is bottled at 46% abv.

Scotland

With a whole host of Single Malt Scotch whiskies available it was impossible for us to choose. Our Whisky Shop managers, with their impeccable taste, have selected their choice Single Malt Scotch whisky to take part in our in-store sampling events!
