The first edition in a four-set series, this release celebrates The Dalmore’s long-standing partnership with Gonzalez Byass Sherry house by finishing the single malts in the finest sherry casks in the world: Apostoles, Matusalem and Vintage Sherry. Each expression is bottled at cask strength, free from chill filtration and at natural colour.
The set is immaculately presented in a leather box hand-crafted by Italian luggage makers AB Florence, to echo the long voyages often taken by sherry casks. Acting as both a carry case, and a display case, the box has been finished with exquisite sherry red Saffiano leather. A limited-edition book accompanies the set, telling the story of the Sherry Edition with inspiring photography from Jerez and the home of The Dalmore.
26 Year Old Vintage Sherry Finish
Distilled in 1996, this single malt was initially matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks, before being transferred to Cask #4 - a 2002 Vintage Sherry Cask, and bottled at 48.2% abv.
The whisky boasts aromas of orange blossom honey, apricot, Madagascan vanilla, and cacao, with a palate full of golden raisins, mandarin citrus, iced cherry cake, and sugared almonds. Freshly baked brioche on the finish, alongside notes of coffee, ginger and warm vanilla.
28 Year Old Matusalem Finish
First matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks and then finished in Cask #73 - a very rare 30-year-old Matusalem Sherry Cask, before being bottled at 55.3% abv.
Expect aromas of rich dark fruits, Manuka honey, liquorice, sweet tobacco, and star fruit, and a palate that shines notes of antique Sherry-soaked raisins, Old English marmalade, marzipan, and liquorice. Waves of dark cherries, molasses, dark chocolate and cassia bark complete this magnificent dram.
43 Year Old Apostoles Finish
The pinnacle of the collection, this rare single malt was initially matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks, before being finished in Cask #1 - a very rare 30 Year Old Apostoles Sherry Cask. Laid down back in 1979, and bottled in 2023, the expression is presented at 46.8% abv.
Warm honey, roasted chestnuts, sun-kissed raisins, and Seville orange on the nose. The palate of Madagascan vanilla, dark forest fruits, crushed almonds, and dark chocolate, leads to a complex finish of freshly baked brioche, grilled pineapple, blood orange and sweet cinnamon.
