The Best Bourbons For Father's Day

Bulleit Bourbon 10 Year Old
Made using an unusually high proportion of rye for a bourbon, Bulleit was founded in 1987 by Tom Bulleit as he revived a bourbon recipe invented by his great-great grandfather, Augustus, from around 1830. Age statement bourbon is often hard to come by, but this rare expression proudly displays it on its signature slanted label. Selected barrels were put aside to be matured for a decade, resulting in a smooth, rich profile of oak, vanilla, dried fruit and smoke. Tell Dad about this bourbon's family connection as you both sip on this liquid gold.
Tincup American Whiskey
If Dad is a superhero fan, you can tell him that this is the whiskey of choice for Jessica Jones, and Harley Quinn - good taste! Named after the tin cups that the Colorado mining pioneers drank their whiskey from, this expression is an original blend of Indiana ‘high rye’ bourbon and single malt whiskey from Colorado. Aged in charred American white oak barrels for at least four years and cut with water from the Rocky Mountains, the result is flavours of rye spice, caramel and cinnamon.
Eagle Rare
This Kentucky straight bourbon is produced by the much-hyped Buffalo Trace distillery. Aged for a minimum of 10 years in 'alligator char' American oak barrels, with a top secret mash bill, it has regularly won gold medals at spirit competitions around the world. Eagle Rare is a whiskey that lives up to its name with its bold, distinctive taste experience. Dad can expect bold flavours of toffee, honey, oak, candied almonds and rich cocoa.
Woodford Reserve Father's Day Engraved
The only bourbon in the world to be triple-distilled in traditional copper pots, Woodford Reserve is made from the finest corn, barley and rye. It is handcrafted in small batches before maturing through the extreme hot and cold of the Kentucky seasons in hand-selected barrels made from American white oak. A highly-awarded bourbon recognised and loved by whiskey connoisseurs, it is famed for use in an Old Fashioned. This one comes pre-engraved with a "Happy Father's Day" message too!
Angel's Envy Bourbon
One for the trendy dads (if there is such a thing!). This is one biggest names in bourbon - Angels Envy is a bourbon with a port finish. A ground-breaking way of finishing bourbon, this Kentucky straight bourbon takes a leaf or two out of Scotch whisky’s book and spends between three and six months being finished in port barrels. The dram boasts sweet caramel notes from the virgin oak, alongside rich, sticky port notes, and a decadent sweetness in the palate.
FEW Bourbon Whiskey
One for the history Dads - FEW small batch bourbon hails from Evanston USA, which suffered from Prohibition for over a hundred years. FEW's branding is an ironic nod to this, for it uses Frances Elizabeth Willard (a key figure in the Temperance Movement) as its namesake. Hand-crafted in charred oak barrels, it uses a three-grain spirit recipe that infuses southern tradition with the spiciness of northern rye and a touch of malt for smoothness. The liquid showcases flavours of sweet toffee, caramel, cardamom and cloves, all encased in a stunning bottle emblazoned with a scene from the 1892 Chicago World's Fair.
Leiper's Fork Bourbon Whiskey Bottled In Bond
Hailing from Leiper's Fork distillery in Kentucky, this five-year-old bourbon was made with a mashbill of 70% corn, 15% wheat and 15% toasted malted barley, and has been pot distilled for a full-bodied pre-prohibition style. Delightfully rich flavours of butterscotch, sweet herbs, and dried citrus smoothly coats the palate, before a complex finish of fresh mint, luxardo cherries and maple cinnamon cookies. Simply delectable.
Blanton's Gold Edition

Created for exceptional smoothness and a clean finish, this bourbon is made at Buffalo Trace Distillery with a sour mash of corn, rye and malted barley before maturing in American White Oak casks. The exceptional palate is full and rich with sharp apricot notes alongside butter, pepper, honey and oak.
